An entire album compilation like “96 UNTIL INFINITY” by Billy Bogus and Federico Bologna, dedicated to the abstract hip hop of the Niies, wouldn’t be complete without a handful of remixes. And so from the dope side comes 96 Until Remixes, a reinterpretation of the golden age of downtempo by various Italian artists who were active at the time or profoundly influenced by the sounds and tempos of the 1990s. The project teems with brilliant young Io-fi hip hop masters such as the Prague-based sound designer rocco.etc who completely reinvents Beat Trip 2 Jacks, while Delhikate’s UK version of Bernardo dazzles us with their blend of rhythms and sounds from the tail end of the last century. 96 Until Remixes is a magnificent dive into a universe of sounds and experiences which never stop influencing our approach to music.
